Hello lovely humans,
after the emotional whirlwind of my PNES story series — trauma, doctors, seizures, dark humor, healing — I thought we all deserve something lighter. Something cozy. Something fun.

So today, let’s talk about…
where the Happycapy magic actually happens.

(And trust me — it’s NOT what you see on Pinterest.)

🧵 Pinterest vs. Reality: A Comedy in Two Pictures

When I started crocheting, of course I went to Pinterest for inspiration.
As one does.

And WOW — they show you these:

  • perfect armchairs
  • immaculate yarn baskets
  • sunbeams hitting the corner at just the right angle
  • a sleeping cat or dog looking like a paid model
  • plants thriving like they’re on a wellness retreat

It’s all very peaceful. Very aesthetic. Very “my life is together.”

So I did something funny:
I asked AI to generate a perfect crochet space for me.

And the result?
I nearly peed myself laughing.

Because it was BEAUTIFUL.
And absolutely NOTHING like my reality.

Cozy crafting corner featuring a plush chair, colorful crochet pillows, and many skeins of yarn.
This beautifully organized crochet nook features a plush armchair surrounded by endless skeins of colorful wool. That´s the dream of each crocheter. But …. The reality hits you.

🐾 My Real Crochet Space: The Cat-Approved Chaos

Let’s start with the basics:

✔ Yes, I have a comfortable armchair.

Perfectly shaped. Cozy. My safe little corner.

✔ Yes, I have yarn baskets.

But wait.

Because there is also:

  • one plastic container with a lid
  • another plastic container with a lid
  • and… a third plastic container with a lid

And why?

Because I have a cat.
A cat who views yarn as her personal treasure.
A creature who believes every skein is a challenge she must conquer.
A furry force of chaos who will steal yarn, chew the handles of the basket, and dramatically sprint to the bedroom with her prize.

So yes — LIDS are mandatory.

As for the basket?
You won’t see it.
Because it’s hidden under a blanket to protect it from the tiny yarn thief.

Pinterest could never.

🧶 A Crochet Space Spread Across the Entire Flat

Some people have “a crochet corner.”
I have:

  • yarn in the living room
  • yarn in my home office
  • yarn in the bedroom
  • occasional yarn in the kitchen (don’t ask how it gets there)
  • yarn in containers
  • yarn escaping containers
  • yarn trying to start a new life under the sofa

And you know what?
I love it.

Even though I’m an organized person, I enjoy a little bit of controlled chaos — the cozy kind. The creative kind. The “yes, I know exactly where that teal skein is even if it looks random to you” kind.

🪑 Finding the Right Spot Was a Whole Journey

I tried:

  • the couch
  • the bed
  • different chairs

Nothing felt right.

But then… the armchair.
My trusty IKEA find from years ago.
Originally used only by my father when my parents visited.

After surgery, when my back needed a specific shape and comfort level, I rediscovered it.
Added two pillows.
And suddenly — PERFECT.

This is where Happycapy lives.
My cozy crafting nest.
Full of blankets, cat hair, yarn, and love.

🐾 Nina’s Special Ability: Knowing EXACTLY When I’m Almost Done

Let me tell you something about Nina — the ruler of the universe and destroyer of productivity.

She ALWAYS knows when I have:

  • 3 stitches left
  • one ear to sew
  • a head to attach
  • or the tiniest finishing detail to complete

And that’s when she jumps onto me, lies down, and demands cuddles.

Every. Single. Time.

I don’t know how she does it.
But she does.

And honestly?
I wouldn’t have it any other way.

OK, this one is a little AI – i have tried to find something what would fit here, but i don´t have anything, so i used an original image and ask AI to help to show the chaos I´m living in – coffee, snacks, lots of yarn, mess and Nina asking for cuddles in the most impossible time.

🌼 Why You’ll Never See an AI-Perfect Photo From Me

Because that’s not who I am.

I don’t want to show you:

❌ flawless baskets
❌ symmetrical blankets
❌ aesthetic corners that don’t exist
❌ fake “perfect life” moments

I want to show you the reality:

✔ cozy chaos
✔ comfort
✔ creativity
✔ a space full of life
✔ cat hair
✔ yarn everywhere
✔ authenticity

Anyone can create a cozy crochet nest —
you don’t need a Pinterest setup, a fancy room, or 2,000€ worth of decor.

Sometimes all you need is:

  • a few square centimeters
  • a comfy chair
  • coffee
  • yarn
  • and a furry supervisor

That’s real life.
That’s real magic.

Next Up: The Ruler of the Entire Universe

You’ve already met Nina in all my posts — stealing yarn, enforcing breaks, claiming ownership of my armchair.

But she deserves her own blog post.
Her own biography.
Her own chapter in the Happycapy universe.

And that’s exactly what’s coming next.

Thank you for being here, for reading, and for laughing with me.
I hope you enjoy the next post — starring the one and only:

Nina — The True Boss of Happycapy 💛🐾
